In 1929, the Consolidated Schools of Phoenixville asked Homer Werner, a prominent local, to sponsor the purchase of a school bus to transport the district’s school children. He agreed and so WERNER BUS LINES, INC. was founded. As the Phoenixville Area continued to expand, Werner continued to flourish, providing the residents of the growing community with transportation to the “steel mill,” to the Valley Forge Military Hospital, to the Atlantic City shore, to the 1964 World’s Fair in New York City, to wherever...
In 1982, SEPTA took over the public transit operations of Werner and since then the Company has focused solely on providing customized transportation solutions to the residents of the entire Delaware Valley...and beyond.
RECENT TRANSPORTATION SOLUTIONS
Transported the Congressional Medal of Honor recipients in Philadelphia at a weeklong celebration capped by a dinner that was attended by President George H. Bush.
August 2000 saw Werner Coach as a major transportation provider for the Republican National Convention that was held in Philadelphia, PA.
In September 2000, the PGA (Professional Golf Association) Senior Tour returned to Pennsylvania for the first time in 20 years. Werner Coach was chosen to supply and manage the motorcoach transportation for the SEI Pennsylvania Classic held at Waynesboro Country Club.
During the Presidential Campaign, the Bush/Cheyney 2000 Organization tapped Werner Coach for Motorcoach transportation while campaigning in the Southeast Pennsylvania region. While in 2004 the Kerry/Edwards campaign choose Werner for local transportation.
In June of 2001, Werner was awarded a multi-year contract as the service provider for the Suburban Link, bus transportation service provided by the Federal Transit Administration’s Job Access Reverse Commute Grant (JARC).
In February of 2002, Werner provided transportation services for the National Basketball Associations "All Star" game in Philadelphia.
In the Spring of 2002, Werner Coach was chosen as the Official Motorcoach carrier for The Allentown Abassadors, the Minor League Baseball Team located in Allentown, PA.
In 2003, Werner was selected to operate Guided Tours of Valley Forge National Park, in cooperation with the National Center for the American Revolution and the National Parks Service.

Over the years Management has transformed Werner's fleet from Spartan, public transportion vehicles into large capacity, "European Style" luxurious Motorcoaches.
